Delta puts off Kenya, Liberia routes - Atlanta Business Chronicle:

Delta’s Liberia route, scheduled to commence June 8, is also postponedd indefinitely. Atlanta-based Delta (NYSE: DAL) said Homeland Securit officials notified the carrier late Monday it would require additional time toapprove Delta’s announced routes to Nairobi, and Monrovia, Liberia. "Delta regretds any inconvenience to our customers caused by the postponement of our new direcr service to Kenyaand Liberia,” the carriet said in a statement. Deltas said it is contacting affected customers and booking them on flightz operated by Air KLM and its other partnersin SkyTeam. The flightsd will connect to Africa throughthosr carriers’ European hubs, Delta said.
The Kenya route was to originatde in Atlanta and connect to Nairobio with a stopin Senegal. Delta’s Liberia route, scheduled to commencs June 8, is also postponed indefinitely. Thosse passengers are also being rescheduled. Africz has been a point of growth for which is theonly U.S-based airlinew that flies its own aircraft to the continent. Delts currently services six destinations in fiveAfricabn nations: Accra, Ghana; Cairo, Egypt; Johannesburgf and Cape Town, Soutb Africa; Lagos, Nigeria; and Dakar, Senegal.
