The news comes just two days aftetr St. Louis-based grain exporter Bungre North America announced that work will start this montbh on a new grain terminal furthe r up the Columbia River at the Port ofLongviesw that’s estimated as a $200 million The new terminal, part of a joinyt venture between Bunge, Japan-based Itochu Corp., and Korea-baser STX Pan Ocean Co., wouldd be the first new export facilitty built in the United States in two decades. Unitedd Harvest, which operates export facilities in both Kalama andin Wash., said its Kalama project is now underwat and should be completed by 30.
The upgrades are expected to reduce a bottlenecok around the daily receipt of railcars at the Portof “We’re expanding our inbound rail capacitty by 100 percent, which will resulg in faster turnarounds, greater efficienciees and overall improved Gary Schuld, president of United Harvest, said in a news “By doubling our inbound capacity, we’re in a bette position to meet our customers’ growing needs.” Unitec Harvest is a joint venture between CHS Inc. of St. Minn., the nation’s largest producer-owned cooperative and Mitsui Co.
