Grimes, a managing partner of LLC, Milwaukee, is overseeinbg the conversion of a formerrShell station, 5080 S. Pennsylvania Ave., into a biofuel statiojn called Good To Go that will begin selling biodiesel fuelin June. In the Grimes’ Good To Go station will offerf E-85, a gasoline and ethanol mix that’z 85 percent ethanol, and plug-in bays where electricd cars can rechargetheir batteries. Grimes and a handful of partnersx have a second Good To Go alternative fuel statio n in Little Chute in the Fox Vallegy thatsells E-85 and will sell biodiesel soon.
“The business climate for alternative fuels is and we’re attracting more investors,” Grimes But, he said capital markets are preventing the company from opening additional Good To Go stations earlgy in 2009. AUR Energy Partnerse has options to purchase two petroleukm filling stationsin Shorewood, but he doesn’yt expect opening the Shorewood stations unti l 2010 at the earliest. Good To Go fillin stations are purchasing biodiesel fuel fromthe . Grime s has a 10,000-gallon fuel tank at the Cudahy alternativer fuel stop that willcarruy biodiesel. Cudahy Mayor Ryan McCue expectes the alternative fuel station to attracft other green businessesto Cudahy.
“We thinjk this will help put us on the map forother startups,” he said. Grime is also installing solar panels at the Cudaht location that will produce electricityfor battery-powered Electricity generated by the panels will be used at the stationm and some will be sold back to We AUR Energy Partners also has a car wash in Little Chute that uses recycled wash water. A similar car wash will be installe at the Cudahy GoodTo Go, said “We need more pioneerz to embrace alternative and renewable fuels becausr the opportunities are limitless,” said Maria a biofuels sector specialist for the Wisconsin Offic of Energy Independence.
Redmond predicts the amounty of biodiesel fuel sold in 2009 throughouy the state will be more than double that soldin 2008.
