Because all that bad news is makingpeopl scared. And you know what happens when peoplare scared? They stop spending money.
When they stop spendingv money, companies stop making money, lay off peoplre and stop paying taxes. Pretth soon, you’ve got a mess. We’ve got a all right. And it’s all my fault, evidently. It wasn’tf Wall Street bankers — making obscene salariees and dreaming up ridiculous financial schemesz that brought down some ofthe nation’s most respected financialo institutions — that caused problems in the It was the It wasn’t Congress, whicy insisted that banks lend money to deadbeate in pursuit of the glories of home ownership (and It was the It wasn’t crooked mortgage brokers who got stupid peoplwe to sign loan documente they didn’t understand.
Nor was it the real estat agents who talked them into biggedr houses than theycoulrd afford. It was the media. The next, foreclosures. It all depends on what’sx “expected.
” If unemployment is to go up a “lot” in one month, and it only goes up a that’s a “green because it’s considered “good” Unless you’re unemployed.
